Upcoming Movies of 2021 you must watch

With the last two months of the year approaching, the final movie season of 2021 is upon us. Luckily  for all the movie lovers out there, the long and uncertain delays due to the Corona pandemic are behind us, and we now have tons of new anticipated movies to enjoy. Full of different kinds of genres and diversity, I present to you the-must-watch movies for this year. And I might have added a movie that will get you in the holiday spirit!

Eternals (November 3rd)

This all-star movie might surprise many with the fact that it belongs in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reading the early reviews, the film structure is not your typical superhero story. This movie  follows a group of a powerful ancient alien race who have been living hidden on earth for 7000 years. The cinematography of the film is stunning. The film is notable for their extremely diverse cast. It features Gemma Chan, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, Angelina  Jolie and more. Harry Styles also makes an appearance in the post-credit scene officially joining the MCU.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (December 17th)

For this film we are not leaving MCU yet, since Spiderman No Way Home is set right in it. Without giving any spoilers I can say that this film is going to be an interesting crossover . Not only are Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch joining the film, there are also some interesting characters from previous Spiderman movies who might make a reappearance. Overall, the Spiderman movies are always light and fun to watch. So, if you want to escape from reality for a few hours, this is the movie for you!

Dune (September 16th)

This one is for all the sci-fi lovers out there. I had the pleasure to watch Dune in the cinema already and it was an amazing experience. The captivating storyline, the astonishing cinematography and the fascinating all-stars cast is everything you need to know before watching this film. And yes, it is true, this movie did feel like a Game of Thrones meets Star Wars. The film also has an ensemble cast including Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Jason Momoa.

No Time to Die (October 8th)

If you like a classic action movie, you cannot miss the newest James Bond film. After years we are finally getting a new movie in the franchise. Unfortunately it is the last one from actor Daniel Craig. This film follows James Bond who left MI6  and joins the CIA to help find a kidnapped scientist, which leads him to a dangerous villain. And on top of that, this James Bond film includes a lot of female empowerment  which is certainly different from  the previous films.

West Side Story (December 10th)

I definitely did not forget all the music lovers out there! After being delayed for over a year, Steven Spielberg’s new adaptation of West Side Story is finally hitting the screens this Christmas. The difference between this and the 1961 version is that there is actual Latin representation and more diversity. This is a must feel-good movie to watch this year!

French Dispatch (October 21st)

Combine art and cinema and the filmmaker that comes to mind is West Anderson. You might know clips from his previous films such as The Grand Budapest Hotel or The Darjeeling Limited. Most of the scenes in his movies are shot with symmetry. The French Dispatch has a massive all-stars cast and follows three storylines in a fictional 20th-century  French City. So, if you can’t decide between a day in the museum or going to the cinema, this is the movie to watch!

Holiday shout out

Princess Switch 3 (November 18th on Netflix)

Vanessa Hudgens is back to reprise all three roles in the Princess Switch 3. Stacy and her royal look-alike Margaret need help finding a stolen Christmas relic and therefore turn to their other evil doppelgänger Fiona for help. If you are obsessed with the royal family, feel-good films, and don’t mind a little cliché, this is the perfect holiday film for you to watch!
